Originally Il Granaio (The Barn) was a stable for the Italian Cavalry, built about 19OO. Afterwards the building was bought by local farmers to store their wheat. Only in 1999 the barn was completely restored and transformed into 5 country cottages.
The original structure, however, remained intact, such as the (visible) brick walls, the characteristic entries and the typical arches. They still remind you of the horses, which once lived here. These houses -called Type B- sleep 4/6.
They consist of a living room with kitchen corner, two bed rooms, one with a double bed, and one with a bunk bed and a bath room.
At the disposal of our guests there are the swimming pool, bicycles and barbecues.
Il Granaio has a magnificent view of the surroundind fields of grain and sunflowers.
It has an excellent geographic position for day trips e.g. Castiglione della Pescaia -12 km- Marina di Grosseto -6 km- and the beach with its pine tree woods -6 km- Cultural excursions to nearby Etruscan and Roman tombs – Vetulonia and Roselle – picturesque mediaeval villages -Montepescali, Massa Maritima and Campagnatico.
